Sara & Arash’s Intimate Summer Ceremony in Gothenburg – Nature, Architecture & Emotion

Hot days are rare in Gothenburg, but Sara and Arash somehow brought the sun with them for their beautiful wedding celebration. We were commissioned to photograph their ceremony and portraits only, but in that short time, so many meaningful, quiet moments unfolded.

The day began with a portrait session in Trädgårdsföreningen, one of Gothenburg’s most iconic parks. Sara and Arash have a deep love for nature, and they wanted their portraits to reflect that—surrounded by greenery, blooming gardens, and soft summer light. From gentle exchanges under the trees to relaxed laughs in the open spaces outside Palmhuset, everything about their dynamic felt effortless and intimate

We then followed them on a short walk through the city, taking a more documentary-style approach as they made their way to their ceremony at Rådhuset. Awaiting the couple at the steps of Rådhuset were their closest family members. Our task here was to capture the intimate moments shared with them—greetings with their nieces and nephews, and the warm embraces and affection from their parents.

Once inside the building, we took a more journalistic approach—stepping back to frame the couple against the striking architecture of Gothenburg’s historic town hall. The ceremony itself was small and heartfelt. We focused on the moments shared with the celebrants, the signing of the marriage documents, and the quiet, emotional exchanges between the couple and their family.

After the ceremony, we photographed a few relaxed family portraits outside—sunlight pouring over the group as they celebrated this quiet but deeply meaningful milestone together, with the focus being to showcase the building’s iconic front steps, grand façade, and the immediate surrounding areas.
